Nolan J. Hiett has over twenty years of experience in Los Angeles family law. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Hiett worked in family law offices in a supporting role for about ten years. Since his admission to the California bar in July 2015, Mr. Hiett has exclusively practiced family law. Before he co-founded Palyan Hiett LLP in 2026, Mr. Hiett was a sole practitioner for almost seven years after working as an associate for a preeminent family law firm for four years.

Mr. Hiett's practice extends to all issues in family law. In addition, Mr. Hiett is frequently appointed by the court to serve as minor's counsel in highly contested custody matters. He was honored to Co-Chair for the 2025 LACBA Minor's Counsel training program, and will repeat that role in 2026.

Bar Leadership & Service

Mr. Hiett has served in various leadership positions within local bar associations. He served as the Co-Chair of the Executive Committee for the SFVBA Family Law Section (2024–2025), and has been a member since 2018. Mr. Hiett has also been a voting member of the Executive Committee of the LACBA Family Law Section since 2024.

Mr. Hiett volunteers his time for various organizations. He previously served on the Board of Directors of LevittQuinn Family Law Center (2024–2025). He also served as a Trustee for the SFVBA (2022–2023). Mr. Hiett volunteers as a Daily Settlement Officer at the Stanley Mosk and Van Nuys courthouses as well as with the LACBA and BHBA Judgment Assistance Programs. Mr. Hiett is also a volunteer at the SFVBA's annual “Settle-O-Rama.”

Mr. Hiett was selected to the Rising Stars List by Super Lawyers for the years 2020 through 2025, and to the Super Lawyer List by Super Lawyers for the year 2026.

Mr. Hiett received his B.A. from UCLA and his J.D. from Southwestern Law School.
